Chris A. Wendelbo
Chris is a partner at BW Law Group. His practice has focused on environmental law, appellate law, real estate and commercial transactions, and general corporate law.
Chris's environmental experience includes advising and representing individuals, corporations and governmental entities on a broad range of environmental permitting, compliance, policy issues, environmental litigation and cost recovery efforts. In addition, Chris has successfully defended clients in federal and state agency enforcement actions, including OSHA and USDA enforcement actions, as well as negotiated administrative settlements and consent decrees for alleged violations arising under CWA and CERCLA.
Chris also specializes in the remediation and redevelopment of Brownfields, including former federal facilities transferred pursuant to the Base, Realignment and Closure (BRAC) Acts and properties managed under the Formerly Used Defense Sites (FUDS) Program.
Chris has participated in hundreds of appeals, including criminal and military appeals. Chris served as an Attorney in the United States Judge Advocate General's Corps where he acquired extensive litigation and appellate experience. Chris's experience includes both prosecution and defense-side litigation and appellate matters.
Chris also has significant experience in general business matters, as well as legal issues arising during real estate and corporate transactions. Chris has participated in the review and negotiation of stock and asset purchase agreements for both private and large defense industrial base mergers and acquisitions, including preparing required regulatory filings, executed subsequent intra-corporate reorganization documents and managed all aspects of corporate governance issues. Additionally, he has handled general corporate law matters, including contract formation and review, commercial leases, risk management strategies, and corporate litigation.
